Opening Hours

Yellowstone National Park is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

However there are seasonal changes throughout the year and it gets difficult to navigate the roads due to significant temperature changes, rain or snow.

The weather in Yellowstone is erratic, every month of the year.

During the winter, only over-snow vehicles are allowed on the park’s roads.

As many park routes will be blocked due to snowfall from early November until late May.

Summer roads in Yellowstone National Park, on the other hand, are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, unless they are closed due to weather conditions.

Yellowstone has five entrance stations and are as follows

  • East – Cody
  • West – West Yellowstone
  • North – Gardiner
  • South – Grand Teton
  • Northeast – Cooke City

The west, south, and east entrances are open from mid-May until October.

Yellowstone’s North and Northeast entrances are open all year.
